Angraecum elephantinum
Angraecum elephantinum
These plants are native to Madagascar and are also commonly known as the "Gigantic Angraecum" as it blooms with disproportionately large flowers.
Flowers are a star shaped and are light green to beige with a bright white lip. This family of orchids features a flower part called the spur which contains nectar that moths feed from - the moths also ultimately pollinate the flower during feeding. The flowers are also fragrant at night!
Keep plants lightly moist and in shaded conditions. These do very well mounted, and we suggest to grow them this way, but can also be grown well in unglazed clay pots. If mounted, water daily!
These are near blooming size (about 1-1.5) recently mounted to bark.
