Brassavola cucullata
Brassavola cucullata
A species native to Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America. It features an elegant bloom that has long, draping petals and also slowly changes color as it ages, starting as a pale white and green then intensifying to an orange/peach/yellow color in the petals and sepal.
Like other Brassavola, they are fairly easy growers that grow best in indirect-bright light, warm temps, and being watered just when the media dries. The long, thin leaves tend to also 'hang' and so the plant makes a great mounted specimen!
These are near blooming size plants (about 1 year) in 3" baskets.
