Brassocattleya Valencia Beauty (peloric)
Brassocattleya Valencia Beauty (peloric)
Like our other listing, this is a remake of Brassocattleya Valencia Beauty (Brassavola nodosa x Cattleya Interglossa).
This plant is from a seed-grown batch, which usually have variations from plant to plant - this particular one has pelorism!
Pelorism is a rare, and desirable genetic mutation in orchids that causes radial symmetry in plants that are normally bilaterally symmetrical - in other words, the petals resemble the lip.
Peloric orchids are rare and highly sought after in collections! This one features lots of pink spotting!
This plant is potted in a 4" pot. In bloom now!
