Cattleya labiata var. coerulea 'Blue Hawaii'
Cattleya labiata var. coerulea 'Blue Hawaii'
A classic Brazilian species known for its large, fragrant flowers. This variety is a coerulea variety with beautiful 'blue' hued flowers - a highly sought after trait!
Cattleya labiata was the first Cattleya species discovered by European botanists. A sample plant was collected and sent from Brazil in the 1880s, where Europe experienced its first Cattleya bloom in 1818 in England.
These plants require bright-indirect light and warm temps. Cooler nights down to 55F may help better flower color and give a more pronounced 'blue'.
Water just when the media dries.
First year blooming size plants in 4" pots.
