Dendrobium anosmum 'Touch of Class'
Dendrobium anosmum 'Touch of Class'
This species is native to Southeast Asia (the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam) and is part of the Nobile section of Dendrobiums. It grows long, pendulous canes that are deciduous in the fall and winter - canes can reach longer than 30 inches!
The bare canes bloom in the spring with multiple long-lasting, pink and purple flowers that are sweetly fragrant like raspberries.
In Hawai'i, these plants are called Hono Hono. They are incredibly popular and widely grown across the Hawaiian islands; the climate there closely matches that of it's native habitat in SE Asia and is known as the 'Orchid Isle' due to it's ideal orchid growing conditions!
This cultivar features distinct flowers that have white to off-white petals with pink around the edges.
Offered plants are blooming size, with canes about a foot or so long. They were recently mounted to bark.
