Dendrobium rigidum
Dendrobium rigidum
This is a miniature found in New Guinea and Australia. It's easy to grow and flower, stays very compact (compare to my thumb!), and is very drought resistant as it has thick, succulent-like leaves!
It blooms sporadically throughout the year and multiple times per year with small cream-white flowers with a red or orange lip.
Best grown mounted, but can be grown in a small, shallow bulb pan or hanging basket - try to avoid using moss to prevent root rot. These plants appreciate lots of air movement around the roots.
Ours are potted in small baskets of bark sitting inside 2" pots.
