Encyclia tampensis
Encyclia tampensis
A beloved species native to Florida and the Bahamas, it is also called the 'Florida Butterfly Orchid'. They are small, compact plants that produce round pseudobulbs with long, thin blade-like leaves. They are also very hardy and tough plants - drought resistant and can tolerate a wide range of temperatures.
They are great orchids for the beginner orchid hobbyist!
Flowers feature green petals with brown blushing and a bright white and magenta lip. They typically bloom in Summer and make excellent mounted plants.
Grow in a airy media or mount them, provide lots of water when in active growth but allow the media to nearly dry between watering. These plants will also appreciate bright-indirect light.
Offering seedling plants recently potted in 2" pots.
