Renanthera Wynn McPheeters 'Valley Isle' x self

(Renanthera bella x Renanthera monachica)

This bold primary hybrid produces flushes of fiery red and orange flowers with red spots, and the plants are actually smaller and more compact than their species parents. Some of the progeny in this cross have produces solid color flowers without the spotting! 

These are vandaceous plants and will do well mounted, bare-root in hanging baskets, or in a very chunky bark mix with lots of air at the roots. 

Keep in warm conditions (65-90F) and provide bright light (leaves turning slightly purple is a sign it is getting adequate light for good flowering!). Water when the media is completely dry, or everyday if mounted or bare-root (more often if dry or kept very warm).

These are near blooming size plants established in 2" pots.
